RE
''Treat others how you want to be treated'' - The Golden Rule
Our board-based curriculum provides our pupils with opportunities for exploration and appreciation of difference through exposure to different religions, customs, festivals, and traditions; ensuring pupils develop a greater understanding of their own cultures, as well as those of others, and helps shape individuals who are well-rounded and respectful, contributing to our multicultural community.
As a key part of Religious Education, pupils are nurtured to develop attitudes such as curiosity and wonder, commitment, fairness, respect, self-understanding, open-mindedness, critical thinking, and enquiry across religions for today, tomorrow and later life.
RE at Leavesden
At Leavesden our Religious Education curriculum follows the Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus and non-statutory document 'Religion for Today and Tomorrow'.
Pupils are nurtured to develop their knowledge and understanding through sources of wisdom and their impact, while exploring individual and critical responses to worldviews, as outlined within the Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.
Our curriculum has been developed to include and integrate eight key learning areas of our Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education which include:
Beliefs and Practices |
Sources of Wisdom | Symbols and Actions | Prayer, Worship and Reflection |
Identity and Belonging | Ultimate Questions | Human Responsibility and Values | Justice and Fairness |
